Thinking spatially is an essential competency in today's society.
One of our social commitments is to bring experience in Geographic Information Systems to the classroom.
These systems allow us to introduce higher-order cognitive skills, with enormous potential for the design of integrated tasks - relevant social products - that guarantee the "construction" of meaningful learning.
Through GIS, skills associated with:
• Descriptive function. Location of objects in space and topological relationships.
• Analytical function. Understand spatial structures and patterns.
• Inferential function. Recognize functionalities, dynamics and spatial hierarchies and their temporal evolution.
Therefore, from abtemas we collaborate in the ESRI Geomentores program, a program that facilitates access to its technology.
